Lowry Lane's music combines catchy songwriting with a rough around the edges indie rock aesthetic and draws inspiration from a broad variety of artists all throughout indie and alternative music. They had always been fascinated by some musicians' ability to blend heavy alternative instrumentation with catchy melodies as exemplified by bands like Fugazi, Built to Spill, Pavement, Dinosaur Jr. or Neutral Milk Hotel. The shambolic and chaotic, yet beautifully romantic songwriting of The Libertines and Babyshambles also proved very influential to their approach to writing music, as did other earlier British indie bands like The Stone Roses and The Smiths. Lowry Lane's music also incorporates noisy and layered sonic landscapes in the vein of Sonic Youth, The Velvet Underground or DIIV and drastic dynamic changes inspired by The Pixies and Nirvana. Some songs also feature more electronic elements like interesting drum machine patterns or catchy synthesizers reminiscent of Joy Division, The Cure or John Frusciante's solo work.
